Chlamydia |
Females: 5-30% show symptoms, which can include: - Abnormal vaginal discharge - Endocervical bleeding - Painful and more frequent urination
Males: ~10% show symptoms, which can include: - Urethral discharge - Painful urination - Testicular pain
Infections of the rectum can cause rectal pain, discharge, and bleeding.
Chlamydial conjunctivitis can cause irritation, pain, swelling and discharge, usually affecting one eye only.

Gonorrhea |
Females: ~20% show symptoms, which can include: - Painful urination - Abnormal vaginal discharge - Endocervical bleeding
Males: 85-90% show symptoms, which can include: - Painful and more frequent urination - Abnormal urethral discharges - Testicular pain and swelling
Infections of the rectum can cause rectal pain, itching, discharge, bleeding, and painful bowel movements.
Pharyngeal infections are generally asymptomatic but may cause a sore throat.

Trichomoniasis |
~30% show symptoms, which can vary from mild irritation to severe inflammation.
Females: Symptoms can include: - Itching and irritation of the vagina - Painful and more frequent urination - Endocervical bleeding - Abnormal vaginal discharge with an unpleasant odour - Painful sexual intercourse
Males: Symptoms can include: - Itching or irritation inside the penis - Painful burning sensation after urination or ejaculation - Increased urination - Abnormal discharge from the penis - Painful sexual intercourse

HIV |
Acute infection is when HIV is most infectious but many people do not show any symptoms or only mild symptoms (e.g. headache, sore throat, fatigue). As the viral load increases, other symptoms appear, including: - Swollen lymph nodes - Weight loss - High fever - Diarrhea - Mouth ulcers - Muscle aches - Persistent coughing
Chronic infection (or clinical latency) is often not associated with any symptoms.
AIDS eventually occurs if HIV is left untreated. Symptoms can include: - Rapid weight loss - Extreme fatigue - Pneumonia - Skin discoloration - Memory loss - Depression - Increased susceptibility to other infections such as tuberculosis, severe bacterial infections, and certain cancers

Syphilis |
Primary stage: Skin lesion (chancre) - can be a single painless chancre, or multiple painful and tender chancres.
Secondary stage: - Skin rashes in the mouth, vagina, anus, or elsewhere on the body - Fever - Sore throat - Hair loss - Weight loss - Swollen lymph glands - Headaches - Muscle aches - Fatigue
Latent (hidden) stage: No visible symptoms
Tertiary stage: Multiple different organ systems can be affected including the brain, nerves, eyes, heart, liver, bones, and joints. Symptoms vary depending on the affected body parts.
Neurosyphilis and Ocular Syphilis: T. pallidum can invade the nervous system or eyes at any stage of infection causing neurosyphilis or ocular syphilis. Neurosyphilis symptoms can include headaches, paralysis, dementia, sensory deficits, and altered behavior. Ocular syphilis can cause vision changes, decreased visual acuity, and blindness.

Hepatitis B |
Acute infection: Many people are asymptomatic, but if symptoms do occur, they can include: - Yellowing of the skin or eyes - Nausea - Vomiting - Abdominal pain - Dark urine - Fatigue
Chronic infection is rare in adults, but common in infants and young children. It can develop into cirrhosis or liver cancer. Symptoms can include: - Fatigue - Weakness - Lower leg swelling - Yellow skin - Fluid accumulation in the abdomen - Development of spider-like blood vessels on the skin - Indigestion

Hepatitis C |
Acute infection: Many people are asymptomatic, but if symptoms do occur, they can include: - Yellowing of the skin or eyes - Lack of appetite - Nausea - Vomiting - Fever - Abdominal pain - Dark urine - Fatigue
Chronic infection occurs in more than 50% of infected people. Mild to severe liver disease (cirrhosis or liver cancer) eventually develops it most cases. Symptoms can include: - Fatigue - Weakness - Lower leg swelling - Yellow skin - Fluid accumulation in the abdomen - Development of spider-like blood vessels on the skin - Indigestion
