Whenever the possible fathers are brothers, we highly recommend testing both of the brothers or else including the mother of the child in the test. However in situations where only one brother can be tested with the child, then the next best option is for the lab to run the extended test panel which is more discriminatory than the regular test panel. If the result shows and exclusion, then the test is 100% definitive, and if it shows an inclusion, it would be more discriminatory than the regular panel, but there is no way to guarantee 100%.
If you wish to request the extended test panel for your DNA Paternity Test, please enter the following into the comments box of the online order form when you place the order: “Please run the extended panel on this test because the two possible fathers are brothers”. Once we receive the message, the extended panel will be run for you at no extra charge.
